Meet Léa Rostain, the face of Cosmic Girl and Coeur Grenadine Léa Rostain, the face of our Cosmic Girl and Coeur Grenadine collections

Léa Rostain joins the #LaNouvelleCrew as the face of our Winter 2019 and Summer 2020 collections: Cosmic Girl and Coeur Grenadine. We asked her to tell us about her journey and her experience with La Nouvelle.

My name is Léa Rostain, I am 23 years old, I’m from Paris but I’m a Finistère native at heart. My life mainly revolves around my cat, my horse, my snake and my guitar.

I started modelling when I was 11, alongside my father who’s a photographer, but my career really started when I got to do a shoot with the Chinese photographer Ren Hang. Then everything happened very quickly... Working with Peter Lindbergh, Glen Luchford, Ellen Von Unwerth... I’m lucky to be able to make a living from this career, thanks to working with photographers I have always admired. It’s crazy but it’s really a blast!

I’ve also been acting for two years now. One of my films is in cinemas at the moment, Un Vrai Bonhomme (“Man Up!”) by Benjamin Parent. I have two other feature film projects and a Canal+ TV series coming out in 2020/2021.

In terms of clothes, I try to only wear vintage, I don't buy anything new (except for my underwear). There’s so much you can find in vintage shops... I like geeky t-shirts that I crop, and wear with leather trousers and big Doc Martens. I like to layer materials. I also pinch my dad's clothes, I like to wear clothes a bit like armour, and with quite a masculine look...

My experience with La Nouvelle started in December 2018, with the Cosmic Girl campaign (Winter 2019) shoot. I immediately loved the feel of the brand, the underwear with its strong colours, super-cute prints and impeccable cuts.... it's so unique!

When I met the team, I knew right away that I was going to have a great time on the shoot. They are full of energy, passionate, creative, enthusiastic, and they gave me a lot of room to interpret the characters they wanted to create. I loved it.
I came to meet clients, I left with friends!

They showed me a part of the South of France that I didn't know at all and that I was totally charmed by: the Danielle Casanova boat (operated by Corsica Linea, where we shot the Cosmic Girl collection), Alix's little secret spots on the banks of turquoise rivers, the Vallon des Auffes district in Marseille...

In La Nouvelle underwear, you feel good, beautiful, fresh... It makes you want to be in the sunshine all year long...
